Stenella attenuata
The Osa Peninsula, Corcovado, and Manuel Antonio are the three atlas places where the Pantropical Spotted Dolphin is recorded. Records concentrate most heavily in Guadeloupe, Taiwan, and the United States, followed by Martinique and Mexico. Across its range, the atlas holds 2,463 records of the species from 28 countries.
Recording patterns differ by region. Each place page in the atlas shows the particular months when the dolphin is recorded in that area.
These are open occurrence records, so they show where people looked for and recorded the Pantropical Spotted Dolphin as much as where it lives. Cells are up to 25 km across, and every location is generalised to its cell.
Generalised encounter areas, not exact locations. Each shape is a grid cell coloured by how likely the species is there.
Conservation status not assessed here yet, so every location is generalised to its grid cell.
