Ourebia ourebi

Overview

Serengeti National Park, Maasai Mara National Reserve and Ngorongoro Conservation Area are the three atlas places where the Oribi is recorded. Records of this mammal concentrate most heavily in Benin, Zambia, Uganda, Niger and the Central African Republic. The atlas contains 534 records of the species across 16 countries.

Because these records occur in both hemispheres, the months they are recorded differ by region. Each place page in the atlas shows the recorded months for that area.

These are open occurrence records, so they show where people looked for and recorded the Oribi as much as where it lives. Cells are up to 25 km across, and every location is generalised to its cell.

Where you'll find them

Generalised encounter areas, not exact locations. Each shape is a grid cell coloured by how likely the species is there.
