Oenomys hypoxanthus
Aberdare National Park in Kenya is the one atlas place where the Common Oenomys is recorded, though its records concentrate most heavily in Congo - Kinshasa, Rwanda, Uganda, Congo - Brazzaville and Burundi. The atlas holds about 350 open records of this member of the Muridae family across ten countries.
Because the records for this mammal span both hemispheres, seasons differ by region. Each place page in the atlas shows the months recorded there.
These are open occurrence records, so they show where people looked for and recorded the Common Oenomys as much as where it lives. Cells are up to 25 km across, and every location is generalised to its cell.
Generalised encounter areas, not exact locations. Each shape is a grid cell coloured by how likely the species is there.
Conservation status not assessed here yet, so every location is generalised to its grid cell.
