Epomophorus wahlbergi
Garden Route, Tsavo West and Mount Kenya are among the 14 atlas parks where Wahlberg's Epauletted Fruit Bat is recorded. Its 294 records concentrate in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, South Africa and Angola. The atlas holds records of the species across eight countries. The map shows its full range within these territories rather than just a partial concentration.
These are open occurrence records, so they show where people looked for and recorded the Wahlberg's Epauletted Fruit Bat as much as where it lives. Cells are up to 25 km across, and every location is generalised to its cell.
Generalised encounter areas, not exact locations. Each shape is a grid cell coloured by how likely the species is there.
Conservation status not assessed here yet, so every location is generalised to its grid cell.
