Balaenoptera edeni
Table Mountain, Garden Route and Addo Elephant National Park are the three atlas places where the Bryde's Whale is recorded. Its records concentrate in South Africa, Brazil, Australia, Mexico and Thailand, with 225 records across 16 countries.
Records of the whale occur at different times of the year depending on the region, and each place page shows the months recorded there.
These are open occurrence records, so they show where people looked for and recorded the Bryde's Whale as much as where it lives. Cells are up to 25 km across, and every location is generalised to its cell.
Generalised encounter areas, not exact locations. Each shape is a grid cell coloured by how likely the species is there.
Conservation status not assessed here yet, so every location is generalised to its grid cell.
