Aepyceros melampus
Kruger National Park, Serengeti National Park and iSimangaliso Wetland Park are among the 32 atlas places where the Impala is recorded. Its records concentrate in Kenya, South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania and Botswana. The atlas contains about 700 records of Aepyceros melampus from 14 countries.
Because this species is recorded in both the northern and southern hemispheres, seasons differ by region. Each place page shows the months the Impala was recorded there.
These are open occurrence records, so they show where people looked for and recorded the Impala as much as where it lives. Cells are up to 25 km across, and every location is generalised to its cell.
Generalised encounter areas, not exact locations. Each shape is a grid cell coloured by how likely the species is there.
Conservation status not assessed here yet, so every location is generalised to its grid cell.
